Also in times of inexpensive SATA disks: to archive data and store backups for many years, tape technology is still required. While disk drives have only a lifetime of a few years, LTO tapes can be stored up to 30 years.

The T60A autoloader of the reknown library manufacturer NEC is an inexpensive but robust solution for up to 90 TB of uncompressed data. And if performance matters: up to four LTO 5 drives can be built into this autoloader and used at the same time. 48 slots are available from the beginning, another 12 can be activated - also at a later time - by an additional licence key.

Alternatively a T30A Version is offered, with 18 / 30 slots.
